This week’s theme is all about being bold and courageous, and in 1 Corinthians 16:13-14, Paul reminds us of what truly matters—staying on guard, standing firm in our faith, being strong and courageous, and doing everything with love.
In our daily lives, it’s important to be aware of even the small things. There are many subtle distractions that can slowly pull us away from our faith, so staying alert, praying, and keeping an open heart to hear the Lord’s voice is essential.
Being strong and courageous means facing danger, difficulty, or pain without backing down. It might be going to the doctor when something feels wrong, opening up to a friend about a hard truth so it loses its power, or boarding a plane despite a fear of flying. In overcoming these challenges, we experience God’s help, His provision and peace, and learn that He is able when we are not.
Doing everything with love can be tough. Philippians 2:3 “Do not act out of selfish ambition or conceit, but with humility consider others as better than yourselves.” Seeing others this way helps me treat them as I’d like to be treated, remembering we all fall short of God’s glory, and just as He forgives me, I can forgive others—learning daily how to walk in love.
1 Corinthians 16:13-14 may be short, but it’s powerful, offering a daily challenge to live as Jesus did. He is our example—facing great opposition, yet always looking to His heavenly Father, walking in love, and overcoming fear even at the cross, showing us the depth of His love for us. May it inspire and guide us in our everyday walk.
